“Life is like a box of chocolates, Forrest. You never know what youre going to get.” These words from Forrest Gumps mother have always resonated with me, and after reading Roland Barthes "Camera Lucida," I found a new layer of meaning in them. Barthes exploration of photography as a medium and its impact on our perception of reality is both profound and thought-provoking。
In "Camera Lucida," Barthes delves into the dual nature of photographs, which he terms as having both "studium" and "punctum." The studium is the cultural, intellectual, and aesthetic aspects of a photograph that draw our attention, while the punctum is that unexpected detail that pierces the heart and evokes a strong emotional response。 This concept reminded me of how life is full of unexpected moments, much like the chocolates in Forrests box, and how these moments can shape our understanding of the world and ourselves.
Forrest Gump, with his simple yet profound wisdom, embodies the idea that life is a series of unpredictable events. Similarly, Barthes analysis of photographs as "indexical" images that capture a moment in time made me realize how each photograph, like each moment in life, is unique and irreplaceable。
Reading "Camera Lucida" was a journey of self-discovery, as it forced me to confront my own mortality and the fleeting nature of time. Barthes personal reflections on the photographs of his mother, particularly the one of her as a young woman, resonated deeply with me. It made me think about my own relationships and the importance of cherishing the people we love while we can。
In conclusion, "Camera Lucida" is not just a book about photography; it is a meditation on life, memory, and the passage of time. Barthes insights into the power of images to evoke emotions and trigger memories are a reminder of the fragility and beauty of human existence. Like Forrest Gump, we should embrace the unpredictability of life and find meaning in the moments that touch us the most.

Pride & Prejudice (2005) 英文观后感:I enjoyed the movie very much. I did not think I would as I loved the BBC series with Colin Firth. The movie is a lot shorter but the story was well done. Mathew McFadden was brilliant as Mr Darcy. I would have liked to see him in more scenes. He is a very talented actor. Knightley was very good in the role as Elizabeth, but her costumes were a bit drab most of the time. Judie Dench was brilliant as she always is. Donald Sunderland was excellent. The locations are beautiful and the music. Tom Hollander was great as Mr Collins. He brought humour to the roll. I have watched the movie several times and I will watch it again.
